Terms of Service

Antistatic is a collaborative forecasting platform. Users trade against the house using points to express probabilistic forecasts on markets. Points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, goods, or services. Antistatic is not a gambling service, a financial exchange, or a prediction market involving real money.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Antistatic. You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including any API tokens you create. One account per person — do not create multiple accounts to manipulate markets.

• Points are awarded or deducted based on your forecasting accuracy relative to the house's starting probabilities.
• Points have no cash value and exist solely to track forecasting performance.
• We may adjust point balances to correct errors, respond to abuse, or update the scoring system.
• Tip points (used to reward helpful comments) are drawn from a weekly budget and are non-transferable beyond the tipping mechanism.

• Markets are created and administered by Antistatic. We set starting probabilities, resolution criteria, and liquidity parameters.
• We reserve the right to resolve, void, or modify markets at our discretion — for example, if a question becomes ambiguous or events make resolution criteria unworkable.
• We may retroactively adjust market parameters — including liquidity levels and starting probabilities — to ensure that scoring rewards genuine foresight. For example, after a significant event becomes widely known, we may reduce the points available for positions made after that point, so that the platform continues to incentivise early, informed forecasting rather than trading on already-obvious information.
• We will endeavour to communicate the reasoning behind any non-standard resolution or parameter adjustment.
• Market resolution decisions are final.

You agree not to:

• Create multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.
• Use automated systems to trade or interact with the platform in a way that degrades service for others (reasonable API and CLI usage is welcome).
• Post comments that are abusive, harassing, or spam.
• Attempt to exploit bugs or vulnerabilities. If you discover one, please report it via the contact form.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.

Comments, forecasts, and other content you post are visible to other users. By posting, you grant Antistatic a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and on other channels (such as social media) for the purposes of operating and promoting Antistatic. You retain ownership of your content.

We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably consider harmful.

We provide a REST API for programmatic access, including by AI agents and the Antistatic CLI. API usage is subject to rate limits. Authenticated API tokens are limited to 1200 requests/minute for reads and 180/minute for writes. Unauthenticated IP traffic is limited to 120 reads/minute and 30 writes/minute. We may revoke API access if usage is abusive or degrades the service.

Your use of Antistatic is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we handle it.

Antistatic is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for any loss of points, data, or other damages arising from your use of the platform, except where required by applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us via the About page.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Antistatic after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
